20/20 Vision

I have vision problems. I have to wear glasses to help me keep my focus on what I need to see. If I take my glasses off, everything gets blurry. And that’s not good – especially when I’m driving! Being able to focus your vision is important, especially when it comes to your life. Check it out:

Focusing on the self is the opposite of focusing on God. Anyone completely absorbed in self ignores God, ends up thinking more about self than God. That person ignores who God is and what he is doing. Romans 8:7

You know, it’s so easy to focus on yourself and what’s going wrong in your life. It’s easy to pick out what is going wrong at school, work, in your family and in your friendships. It’s easy to dwell on what you haven’t gotten or what you’re waiting for that seems like you’re never going to get. And there’s nothing wrong with communicating those feelings to God. But God doesn’t want you to stay focused on that. He wants you focused on Him and what He’s doing in your life because when you stay focused on yourself and what’s not going right in your life, He knows that those thoughts will steal your joy. So, fix your vision problem. You can only have 20/20 vision when you focus on God and the positive things He’s doing in your life.
